I find CSS fascinating and am a firm believer in utilizing CSS in all my website designs.

Although most people have their monitors set for 1024 x 768, my designs are also viewable in 800 x 600.

I test each website in Internet Explorer 6.0 & 7 and the latest versions of FireFox, Opera and Netscape since these are the most widely used browsers.

Distinct Website Designs is located on the South Shore of Long Island, New York and is the sister site for Diron Graphics & Web Design.

Why?

Joining forces with Diron Graphics & Web Design was only natural. Distinct Website Designs was born because I wanted to delve deeper into providing more information for people with little or no web design experience, but yet want to create their own web sites.

I wanted to take web design to a new level in helping people learn how to create websites. My only hope is that the information that I present is helpful.

I do pride myself in creating some very 'distinct' websites.

Taking the plunge...

General Information

I try to be different.
That's just my nature. I like color and I like to intersperse it when I can and where I can as long as it adds value to the overall look and feel of the website and is appropriate. Often times too much color is a hindrance with some business niches so it's extemely important to make sure that the colors used are an enhancement to the website design. Take a look at my Portfolio, and see how I was able to create some great–looking designs.

I do not design in flash. In today's competitive market, we need to focus on other more important things such as SEO (Search Engine Optimization). A website designed with flash has no useful purpose other than aesthetics. Flash should be used for banners or presentations where they are the most effective. As a matter of fact, flash was considered one of the worst design problems in 2005. Don't believe me? Read The Top Ten Web Design Mistakes of 2005. What you say may not always "Go". What I mean is that I will listen to your ideas —  we will discuss what it is you want your website to look like and accomplish. You may even have some great ideas, however, you hired me to do what I do best and that is to design you a website which will provide you with the edge you may need to accomplish your goals.

You may not know what you want yet. That's ok. Starting from scratch is not the end of the world, only the beginning of a designing process which brings you closer to a distinct website design geared for you.

However, it can be very helpful if you already have an idea of how you would like your website to look. In other words, find a few web sites that have layouts that you really like and those that you dislike, then let me know about them. This information helps me with designing a layout specifically for you.

You are the boss. The ultimate decision is up to you. I will make suggestions, but usually with regard to the design or navigation aspects of the site. By no means do I force my own opinions, although I may make suggestions from time to time but always because it is to help you succeed. ;)
